The first amberNetwork Residency (no:1) will be held  in Istanbul, in between 25 October- 10 November, for two artists -two projects.

amberNetwork Residency no:1, aims to create and produce  an interactive work.
Therefore artists should have a clear project in mind or one that already started. The work should be finished by amber’09 in which it will take part afterward.

This call is only open to amberNetwork members or artists which are suggested by a network member.
The individual artists should contact the amberNetwork member that they are known by.
Artists (and projects) will be selected among the submissions. The projects that are in line with the theme of the amber’09 will be preferred.

BIS, on behalf of amberNetwork will cover the expenses of travel, accommodation, per-diem of the artists and production costs of the work.
The artwork will be a co-production of artist and BIS but all the rights will be belong to the artist.
BIS will support the artist during the creation and production processes and provide technical know-how.

Resident artists are expected to finish the work in time. Artists are also expected to contribute to the practices of young local artists during their stay.

cross network meeting at eMobilArt

in between 21-24 May in Thessaloniki thare will be a cross network meeting between amberNetwork, Rami and Yasmin network.
We hope this meeting will bring new possibilities for  collaboration and exchange among the networks.This meeting will take place in the frame of eMobilArt.

Thursday, May 21st:

13.30-14.30 Introductory talk from the Representative of the State Museum of Contemporary Art in Thessaloniki (15 mins.) and brief Presentation of the e-MobiLArt project, its aims, objectives and activities so far, with a brief overview of the results of the evaluation on collaborative practice by the project co-ordinator (25 mins.), followed by a (20 mins) discussion with the participants and the public.

14.30 – 16.00 e-MobiLArt presentations (20 mins. each): 3 Presentations from groups of participants followed by (Q & A) discussion moderated by a respondent or an invited guest (to be announced).

16.00 – 16.30 Coffee break

16.30 – 18.00 e-MobiLArt presentations (20 mins. each): 3 Presentations from groups of participants followed by (Q & A) discussion moderated by a respondent or an invited guest (to be announced).

18.00 – 18.45 Key-note speaker

19.00 – 20.00 “Why Collaborate?; Curatorial Perspectives”
Panel discussion: Annick Bureaud, Nina Czegledy, Christianna Galanopoulou, Roger Malina followed by discussion with the audience

21.00 – The MIASMA Performance, a part of the Third Woman project, by Anna Dumitriu, Barry Rostho, Cliona Harmey and a team of performers
